Kimberly Taylor Awarded 2011 – 2012 Head Start Parent of the Year

James Thomas, CSI executive board member, presents Kimberly Taylor with the Head Start Parent of the Year Award

Mrs. Kimberly Taylor was awarded the 2011-2012 Head Start Parent of the Year at Concerted Services, Inc.’s Volunteer Luncheon that was held in Baxley in May.  She was also recognized at the Georgia Head Start Spring Conference in St. Simons Island.

Mrs. Taylor had over 200 hours of volunteer time at the Bacon County Head Start/Early Head Start Center.  She assisted with numerous projects for the center including serving on the Head Start Policy Council and was an active member of the Parent Committee.  “Anytime you needed an extra hand, she was always one of the first parents to stand up and offer to help,” stated Ms. Bonnie Gaskins, Head Start director.  “She stayed extra busy during the year since she had a child in Head Start and one in Early Head Start.”

“We are so appreciative of all the volunteers,” stated Ms. Ophelia Gaines, CSI executive director.  “Volunteers are an integral part of the Head Start program proving valuable services.  For every $1.00 the agency receives from the Federal government, we must match it by 20 cents (20%) with in-kind services. Volunteer hours are one way that we meet this obligation. But more importantly, these volunteers mean so much to the staff and the children.  They are true role models for their families.”

Thank you Mrs. Taylor for all your hard work and dedication
