The Low-Income Heating Assistance Program (LIHEAP) offers a one-time payment of a heating bill for low-income households. Households in which every member is at least 65 years old or completely bedridden are treated with priority and can apply in November. Other households will be assisted starting in December if funds remain.
Some years, funds are also allocated by the Federal and/or State government for cooling assistance payments for low-income households.
