Hand-Up Project

The “Hand-Up” Project is for recently unemployed or underemployed people who need some help getting back on their feet.  Once enrolled, participants will be eligible for a variety of support services designed to obtain and maintain suitable employment.  Services may include:

  • Job Development
  • Application/Resume Assistance
  • Job Search Assistance
  • Arrangement of Child Care and/or Transportation
  • Budgeting Assistance

Each participant will partner with a Self-Sufficiency Case manager and work together to set goals and implement a plan of action to achieve those goals.

Funds are also available to assist with housing, utilities, transportation, childcare, equipment/uniforms, etc.

The Hand-Up Project is made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to help those who have been negatively affected by the current recession.

Who is Eligible?

  • Adults whose household income does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty guidelines

  • Individuals who are physically employable
  • Individuals who are willing to work in partnership with Concerted Services, Inc. to achieve employment goals
  • Individuals who have become unemployed or underemployed during the previous twelve (12) month period*

*Some exceptions may be made for those who do not meet this criteria.
