The staff at Toombs County Senior Center love Tummy Treasures, the new coffee shop and bakery in Vidalia. So they contacted the management there, asked them to host an activity and Mandy Britt from Tummy Treasures agreed to come. They provided sugar free cookies and icing and did a cookie decorating class with the whole center.
Senior Cora Green photographed here with Ms. Britt is 98 years old. Mrs. Green used to work at a bakery many years ago. She says that she hasn’t decorated anything in years and years since her mama died. We knew this activity would be SUPER SWEET for her. It’s our hope at Toombs Senior Center to rekindle precious memories and bring joy to the lives of all of our seniors. We do this by trying to offer a variety of activities that reflect the individuality of each special person in our group.
